Toosso – Restaurant review

My husband tells me that I should invent a Chicken Tikka index as a way to gauge the best restaurant with the most delicious Chicken Tikka in the world! This suggestion is due to my love for Chicken Tikka and it being my MOST favorite food in the world! Heck, if I had nothing but Chicken Tikka to eat for the rest of my life, I would be the happiest girl in the world! 😂😂

For those who need to know about this amazing South Asian dish and come over to the dark, delicious side, Chicken Tikka is usually leg quarter marinated with spices like chili powder, cumin, garlic & ginger and grilled on charcoals. It is then drizzled with lemon and served with Naan and raita! Pure deliciousness! Just describing it is making my mouth water! 😋

This picture is not doing justice because I had no self control when my Tikka came and nearly devoured half of it before my husband reminded me about taking a picture! 🙈 So, so good!!

But I digress, this post is about a review for Toosso, a Pakistani Restaurant, in Maryland. And I’m talking about Chicken Tikka because this is one of the few places where I have had authentic, delicious Chicken Tikka on the East Coast. It was not Boneless Tandoori Chicken that some restaurants try to pass as Chicken Tikka. This was legit stuff! Served with some amazing soft, fluffy naan, this was awesome!!

The ambience was amazing! Indian and Pakistani songs wafted through built in stereo system while the traditional, colorful tea pots swayed in the air like a gorgeous waterfall. The walls were painted with modern yet fun murals. The place was clean and well maintained, with an outside seating area decorated with overhead string lights and flowers. The restaurant had a cool, yet traditional vibe!

For entree, we ordered Chicken Tikka, Reshmi Roll, Malai Chicken roll, and the Bun Kabab. Everything tasted very fresh and extremely delicious!

And now we come to this BOMB DESSERT – Falooda! This was another star of this restaurant! Amazing, legit falooda with kulfi! This stuff is what dessert dreams are made of! It was not too sweet and filled to the brim with kulfi ice cream, two types of jello, falooda noodles, basil seeds, and deliciousness! Too good!

We ordered Chai as well, cuz no meal is complete in a Pakistani restaurant without chai, and also because they serve it in these cute traditional teapots. Chai was not super amazing but a nice way to end the meal.

Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant if you are ever in the area. It was definitely worth the drive from Philly for us. We fell in love with it so much that the next day went there again and got the Tikka and Falooda to go! 😂
